  • 2 avocados or avocado pulp.
  • Salt – ½tsp
  • Garlic – ½tsp
  • Cilantro – 1⅓C
  • Yellow Onion – 1
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Vinegar ⅓ tsp

Kitchen Tools Needed to Make Guacamole at Home

  • Hand Masher or Mixer

  • Measuring Cups

  • Mixing Spoon

  • Chef’s Knife

  • Cutting Board

Step-by-Step Instructions on How to Make Fresh Guacamole at hOme

  1. Using your chef’s knife and cutting board cut the fresh vegetables. Mince the cilantro and onion into small cubes.


  2. After having minced the onion and cilantro set them aside.


  3. Place the avocado pulp in the bowl. If you are staring with whole avocado cut them in half and remove the kernel and skin. Then place them in a mixing bowl or dough mixer to create a smooth avocado pulp.

  4. Add the salt, seasonings and vinegar with sprinkled in lime juice.

  5. Add the minced cilantro to the guacamole pulp.

  9. Chef’s Notes

    Avocado turns brown relatively quickly. To prevent this from happening I coat the avocado with light lemon juice after cutting, as this will prevent it from turning. If I am doing a small batch of guacamole there is no need for this because I go through the recipe so fast it would not make a difference.

    After preparing this guacamole recipe I wrap it and place it in the refrigerator. Limiting contact with oxygen is the secret to make this fresh guacamole keep its vibrant green color, that is so great for presentation.
